Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services, part of The Carrington Companies, is seeking a Loss Draft Specialist who will handle loss draft requirements, reviews, and inspections remotely. The role emphasizes adherence to policies and governing laws, with a focus on protecting clients and processing claims efficiently.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years in insurance or related fields, strong claims knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and communications

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Two or more years’ experience in insurance, banking, finance, mortgage servicing or related field.
• Strong knowledge of claims handling and claims practices.
• General knowledge of insurance theory and practices, contracts and their application.
• Familiarity with property estimating systems and claims documentation procedures.
• Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform loss draft and property damage requirements including processing checks, documents, inspections, and reviewing queue.
• Review adjuster worksheets for depreciation and validate scope/costs of repairs.
• Evaluate claim packages and inspection reports to determine draw eligibility.
• Assess classification of the claim to reduce risk or loss.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutes, and regulations.
• Initiate fraud processes when necessary to protect client interests.
• Monitor quality of services by appraisers, contractors, inspectors, and loss draft personnel.
• Work efficiently in client and company proprietary applications.
• Respond promptly to written and verbal customer requests and inquiries.
• Provide backup to meet client requirements and SLAs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
