Job summary

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a Litigation Docket Specialist to join our remote team serving offices nationwide. You will identify, calculate, and calendar court deadlines, review incoming documents, and ensure accurate docketing in our systems for high-volume matters.

The role requires 3+ years of docketing experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong attention to detail. Proficient with Compulaw Vision, CourtAlert, PACER, and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a docketing specialist in a law firm environment.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Knowledge of basic litigation docketing, calendaring and Civil Procedure.
• Experience using calendaring software such as Compulaw Vision and/or CourtAlert.
• Superior accuracy and attention to detail; ability to prioritize in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to interpret and analyze information.
• Knowledge of court websites, docket searching and document retrieval databases (PACER, Lexis/Nexis, West CourtExpress, etc.).
• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, but also as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Review docketing requests and related documents to calculate critical dates and deadlines.
• Update docket entries and perform quality control on work product.
• Research court rules and judges' orders to supplement automated calculations when needed.
• Respond to case teams to ensure accurate docket entries.
• Maintain knowledge of state and federal court rules for deadlines.
• Assist with special projects to meet position requirements.
