Job summary

Warrior Insurance Network in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Litigation Claims Specialist to handle litigated auto and commercial auto claims. You will work within an established office, with opportunity for remote or hybrid arrangements based on performance and requirements.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of auto claims handling experience.
• 5 years minimum of full file auto claims experience for fully remote work consideration.
• Prior non-standard auto claims experience a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations where required by state statutes to become a licensed claim adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation claims in accordance with established office procedures.
• Determine coverage and draft any applicable reservations of rights letters.
• Conduct prompt investigations by securing statements and obtaining necessary documents (police reports, medical specials, photographs, etc.).
• Litigation management including strategizing with defense counsel and experts on defense cases and declaratory judgments.
• Maintain an appropriate diary on all open files.
• Work with vendors to maintain reasonable expenses and uphold service quality.
• Research and interpret case law, statutes, and coverage forms to adjust and conclude claims.
• Evaluate use of experts and/or field investigators as needed.
• Maintain claim files and document all activity per regulations and policies.
• Prepare and present claim evaluations to secure settlement authority.
• Establish and maintain reserves for indemnity and expenses.
• Conduct onsite reviews of defense counsel as required.
• Adhere to state Department of Insurance regulations.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
