First Chicago Insurance Company seeks an experienced Litigation Specialist to handle litigated and complex auto liability claims. The role emphasizes investigative diligence, coverage analysis, and effective settlement planning within regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with defense counsel and experts, maintaining accurate claim files, and ensuring timely reserve setting. A college degree and/or 5 years of claims experience, plus license readiness, are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass written examinations to become a licensed claim adjuster.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigated and complex auto liability claims.
• Determine coverage and draft reservations of rights letters.
• Conduct prompt investigations with statements, police reports, medical bills, photos, and appraisals.
• Manage litigation with defense counsel and experts; coordinate declaratory judgment actions.
• Maintain diaries and proper documentation of claim activity per regulations and policies.
• Establish indemnity and expense reserves and present claim evaluations for settlements.
