Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lifecycle Project Manager for Power & Energy, with a remote-friendly setup in the United States. The role oversees transmission, substation, and communications projects with focus on SCADA/telecom, driving schedules, budgets, and client satisfaction.

You will manage multiple projects, mentor teams, and coordinate engineering, controls, procurement, environmental, and vendors while maintaining governance and QA/QC standards. Travel to client sites is required as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field within Power & Energy; relevant experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of post-education experience with significant PM responsibility in Power Delivery, transmission, substation or related infra.
  • Experience managing medium to large transmission line and/or substation projects for electric utility clients.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk and client satisfaction.
  • Advanced understanding of utility project delivery including engineering, procurement, permitting, environmental coordination, construction readiness, outage coordination, commissioning, closeout.
  • Proficiency in CPM schedule management, cost forecasting, earned value, change/risk management, and invoicing.
  • Experience developing governance tools and audit-ready project files.
  • Ability to manage senior client relationships and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership in coaching project managers and ensuring adherence to PM best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout of multiple transmission line and substation projects.
  • Provide senior oversight for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, procurement, and commissioning.
  • Serve as primary accountability for delivery, addressing issues and client expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated schedules, cost forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Manage project finances including budgeting, forecasting, earned value, changes, and margins.
  • Engage clients with proactive communication and strategic alignment for high-quality outcomes.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, environmental, and vendors.
  • Establish governance practices, risk logs, decision logs, change controls, QA/QC, and audit-ready docs.
  • Guide resource planning, staffing, and QA/QC expectations to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Mentor project managers and team members to reinforce accountability and delivery standards.
