Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lifecycle Project Manager- Power & Energy to lead remote, high-impact transmission and substation projects across the US. The role emphasizes CPM scheduling, risk and cost control, and strong client engagement within a dynamic Power & Energy program management team.

Travel for face-to-face meetings is expected as needed. The successful candidate will manage diverse teams, maintain governance and QA/QC, and ensure delivery aligns with corporate safety and profitability

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field within Power & Energy; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • “10+ years of relevant post-education experience with significant PM responsibility in Power Delivery, transmission, substation, or related infrastructure.”
  • “Experience managing medium to large, complex transmission line/substation projects for electric utility clients.”
  • “Ability to lead multiple concurrent projects and oversee scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.”
  • “Advanced understanding of utility project delivery, including engineering, permitting, environmental coordination, construction readiness, outage coordination, commissioning, closeout, and client reporting.”
  • “Strong project controls knowledge: CPM, cost forecasting, earned value, change/risk management, invoice review, and financial performance tracking.”
  • “Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships at a senior level and guide cross-disciplinary teams.”
  • “Travel periodically to client/offices as required; adhere to safety and corporate policies.”],

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and closeout of multiple transmission line and substation projects of significant size and strategic importance.
  • Provide senior PM oversight for scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, risk, procurement, construction readiness, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Serve as primary accountability for delivery, identify issues, drive decisions, escalate risks, and ensure alignment with client expectations and standards.
  • Develop and communicate integrated schedules, cost forecasts, metrics, and executive reporting for portfolio visibility.
  • Manage project finances including budgeting, forecasting, earned value, change management, invoicing, and margin protection.
  • Lead client engagement and relationship development through proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, construction, environmental, permitting, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Establish governance tools: risk logs, decision logs, action trackers, change logs, QA/QC, audit-ready files.
  • Guide technical review requirements, resource planning, staffing, and QA/QC expectations.
  • Mentor project managers and team members to reinforce accountability and consistent delivery.
  • Apply ethical judgment for funds, resources, and client commitments in line with policy.
