Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team remotely. You will provide advanced systems engineering across the enterprise, shaping architecture, cloud adoption, automation, and security across 80+ sites in North America.

You’ll mentor junior staff and lead complex projects while ensuring reliability and performance. The role emphasizes design, implementation, and modernization of infrastructure, collaboration with vendors and IT teams, and maintaining security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Eight or more (8+) years of progressive IT experience, including five (5+) years of advanced systems engineering experience.
• Advanced systems and cloud certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise systems, server environments, storage platforms, and cloud infrastructure.
• Lead complex infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
• Architect and support hybrid environments involving Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and cloud-based services.
• Administer and optimize virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, VDI).
• Manage enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Develop technical documentation and security controls; ensure compliance and best practices.
• Design and implement automation solutions using PowerShell, Power Automate, PowerApps.
• Monitor health, security, and performance; address risks and opportunities.
• Provide escalation support and technical leadership for IT operations.
