Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Subsurface Geoscientist for a fully remote role in the Oil & Gas sector. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, interpret seismic data, and shape exploration and development strategies to de-risk prospects and optimize resource assessments.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s or PhD in Geophysics/Geology with 10–12 years of progressive subsurface experience, plus expertise in seismic interpretation, petrophysics, and geological modeling, and strong remote leadership

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Geology, or related Earth Science discipline.
10–12 years of progressive subsurface geoscience experience in exploration and field development.
Proven seismic interpretation (2D/3D), petrophysics, and geological modeling expertise.
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead interpretation and integration of seismic, well log, core, and other subsurface data to characterize reservoirs and identify targets.
Develop and refine advanced subsurface models (structural, stratigraphic, petrophysical).
Provide geological and geophysical input for prospect generation, risking, and economic evaluation.
Collaborate with reservoir, production, and drilling engineers for a unified subsurface view.
Oversee QA/QC of geophysical and geological data acquisition and processing.
Mentor junior geoscientists and promote best practices.
Develop and implement innovative subsurface characterization techniques and uncertainty assessment.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
Stay abreast of cutting-edge geoscience technologies and subsurface imaging.
