Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsurface Data Manager for a fully remote role in the Oil & Gas sector. You will lead data governance, QA/QC, and integration across geoscience and engineering data assets to support exploration and production activities.

You will design scalable data architectures, collaborate with IT and geoscientists, and drive a data-centric culture in a remote-first environment. Extensive experience in subsurface data management is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geoscience, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of subsurface data management experience in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enforce data management policies for subsurface data.
• Oversee acquisition, validation, storage, and retrieval of geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Implement QA/QC processes for data quality.
• Design and maintain subsurface data architectures and databases.
• Facilitate data integration across subsurface disciplines and software platforms.
• Manage data security, access controls, and backup/recovery protocols.
• Collaborate with IT and subsurface teams to optimize data management software and systems.
• Provide training and support to end-users on data management tools and best practices.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in subsurface data management and analytics.
• Contribute to data-driven decision-making processes and subsurface workflows.
