Leidos is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer to join our Power Delivery team in Phoenix. You will lead substation design and project execution, collaborating with engineers, designers, and clients to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

The role emphasizes quality control, reading and creating drawings, BOMs, and applying NEC standards. We offer mentorship, professional development, and opportunities to grow through formal training and leadership programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in executing substation physical and P&C projects.
• Excellent communication with internal teams and clients.
• Ability to read and design substation drawings (one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring).
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical and P&C.
• Complete project lifecycle support from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply NEC minimum requirements to design processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design projects and coordinate with designers and CAD staff.
• Ensure scope, schedule, and budget are met for assigned projects.
• Review drawings, BOMs, and design calculations for accuracy.
• Interface with clients to capture requirements and provide progress updates.
• Attend occasional site visits to verify field conditions.
