Job summary

Leidos seeks a Lead Substation Project Engineer to join the Power Delivery Services Team. The role involves executing both substation physical and protection & control design, ensuring quality, and delivering drawings, BOMs, and designs from scoping to implementation.

Strong communication with clients and internal teams is essential. Required is a Bachelor's in electrical engineering with 4+ years of substation design experience, plus PE/PMP credentials or progress toward them.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 4+ years of related substation design experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams and clients to meet project needs.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work independently within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and design substation drawings such as one-line, three-line, schematics, wiring, plan-section, conduit and grounding drawings.
• Create and check bill of materials for substation physical and P&C.
• Perform quality control checks on substation design projects.
• Support complete project lifecycle from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Apply National Electrical Safety Code minimum requirements to design processes.
• Coordinate with clients and designers to produce required drawings.
