Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Lead Physical Substation Engineer for a remote US position. You will lead engineering efforts for new and ongoing substation projects, collaborate with NV5 Substation Engineering leadership, and guide teams to deliver high-quality designs and analyses.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in substation physical engineering, HV design experience (12 kV–500 kV), and PE licensure, with proficiency in standards such as IEEE/IEC/NESC.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual designs and execution plans.
• Develop engineering/project cost estimates and schedules.
• Perform and document quality reviews for other engineers and designers.
• Prepare construction drawings, documents, calculations, and studies for medium and high voltage substation projects.
• Provide technical delivery of power delivery engineering projects or tasks.
• Prepare calculations, studies, and reports for substation and power systems projects meeting standards.
• Apply engineering design principles and practices, including formulas.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to execute substation projects.
