Job summary

K&A Power Group, New Jersey, remote, seeks a Lead Substation Engineer to drive high-voltage substation design and leadership across projects. You will shape engineering deliverables, mentor staff, and coordinate with PMs and clients to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in substation engineering, strong knowledge of protection and control, and familiarity with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• PE license preferred for lead/authority roles.
• 8+ years in substation engineering with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and engineering of high voltage substations (up to 500kV).
• Serve as the technical authority for substation deliverables.
• Mentor a team of engineers and designers; review work products.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and clients.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, BOMs, and documentation.
• Support field activities, including site assessments and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, NEC and company standards.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for engineering tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes.
