Job summary

Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sales Engineer for Enterprise/Commercial to partner with Account Executives in driving new business acquisitions across the Central area with remote capabilities.

The role centers on delivering security-focused demonstrations and tailoring SAST/SCA/DAST solutions to customer needs. You will guide technical validation, discovery sessions, and value-based engagements, crafting outcomes that align with customer priorities and accelerate deal velocity

Qualifications

8+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical pre-sales
Proven ability to support new business sales cycles with Account Executives
Strong understanding of application security concepts and testing methodologies
Hands-on experience with SAST, SCA, or DAST technologies
Familiarity with AI-based code development tools and workflows
Technical background in software development or security engineering

Responsibilities

Support new business sales cycles with quota-carrying Account Executives
Lead technical discovery sessions, product demonstrations, and proof-of-value engagements
Position and articulate value of SAST, SCA, DAST and LLM-based solutions
Analyze prospect environments to design tailored security solutions
Assist in early-stage opportunity shaping by outlining risks and business impact
Deliver technical presentations to technical buyers and executives
Differentiate Black Duck in competitive net-new sales cycles
Contribute to account planning to expand pipeline and win rates
Stay current on application security trends and emerging technologies
