Black Duck Software, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to join our Enterprise/Commercial team.

You will partner with Account Executives to accelerate new business and deliver technical demonstrations that highlight SAST, SCA, DAST and LLM-based solutions. As a trusted advisor, you will guide prospects through discovery, tailor solutions, and help expand our pipeline while differentiating Black Duck in competitive cycles.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in sales engineering, solutions engineering, or pre-sales, preferably in security.
• Ability to support new business sales cycles with account executives.
• Strong understanding of application security concepts and testing methods.
• Hands-on or working experience with SAST, SCA, or DAST technologies.
• Familiarity with AI-based code development tools and workflows.
• Technical background in software development or security engineering.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence technical decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to develop technical strategies for net-new customer acquisition.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, product demos, and proof-of-value engagements.
• Articulate value of SAST, SCA, DAST and AI-based solutions to diverse stakeholders.
• Analyze environments to design tailored application security solutions.
• Support early-stage opportunity shaping and communicate risks and impact.
• Deliver compelling technical presentations for technical and executive buyers.
• Differentiate Black Duck in competitive, net-new sales cycles.
• Contribute to account planning to expand pipeline and win rates.
• Support validation and integration discussions in AI-driven DevSecOps contexts.
• Stay current on app security trends and emerging tech.
