Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to drive Red Team engagements, advanced adversarial emulation, and ACE exercises across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will mentor engineers, set technical direction, and deliver risk‑based recommendations that strengthen defenses against modern cyber threats.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on penetration testing, offensive security, or advanced security assessment experience.
• 7+ years in Information Security (or 5+ years with a Bachelor’s degree).
• Professional certifications in penetration testing such as GPEN, GWAPT, GMOB, OSCP, OSWE, or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading complex penetration tests and adversarial exercises from planning through reporting.
• Deep expertise in MITRE ATT&CK, threat‑informed testing, adversarial emulation, and modern cyber threats.

Responsibilities

• Lead penetration testing, adversarial emulation, and threat‑based security assessments.
• Plan and report complex security assessments across infrastructure, apps, cloud, APIs, databases, and identities.
• Direct ACE engagements, coordinate stakeholders, manage risk, deliver actionable recommendations.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives, while remaining hands‑on with testing.
• Define testing strategies, review findings, and guide remediation to reduce risk.
• Partner with incident response, engineering, product, and business teams to identify vulnerabilities.
• Drive automation, tooling, and AI/ML‑enabled security capabilities.
• Communicate risks and business impacts to executives and technical audiences.
