Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to drive red team operations, adversarial emulation, and secure design across cloud-native and hybrid environments. You will lead complex penetration tests, coordinate with engineering and product teams, and deliver actionable security recommendations.

You will mentor engineers, define testing strategies, and advance security capabilities with automation and AI/ML-enhanced testing to reduce organizational risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of hands-on penetration testing or offensive security experience; 7+ years in information security.
• Certifications in pen testing e.g. GPEN, GWAPT, GMOB, OSCP, or OSWE.
• Experience leading complex tests from planning to reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead penetration testing, adversarial emulation, and threat-based security assessments.
• Plan and execute ACE exercises across infrastructure, apps, and cloud services.
• Direct ACE and Red Team engagements with stakeholders and risk management.
• Provide hands-on testing while guiding multiple initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Define testing strategies, review findings, and guide remediation to reduce risk.
