Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to own RMF execution and ATO outcomes for assigned systems. You will work with customers and stakeholders to validate controls, surface risk, and drive remediation, ensuring secure, compliant delivery of mission-critical services.

The role requires strong knowledge of NIST RMF, FedRAMP, and DoD frameworks, with the ability to operate independently on smaller environments or align with senior leads for larger programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information assurance, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant information assurance experience with RMF execution and ATO support.
• Experience developing and maintaining authorization artifacts (SSP, POA&M) and supporting security assessments.
• Experience in customer-facing or services-based environments supporting federal or regulated clients is preferred.
• Certifications in governance, risk, and compliance (e.g., CGRC, CISA) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ISSO for assigned systems and manage end-to-end RMF execution.
• Execute full RMF lifecycle: categorization, control implementation, assessment readiness, authorization support, continuous monitoring.
• Develop and maintain authorization artifacts (SSP, POA&M, control evidence).
• Ensure systems remain ATO-compliant and audit-ready.
• Track, prioritize, and drive remediation of vulnerabilities and findings.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and program teams on security controls.
• Support security assessments, audits, and inspections with assessors and stakeholders.
• Evaluate products and architectures for compliance and risk.
