Job summary

GE Vernova in the United States seeks a Lead Protection & Control Engineer to define and design protection schemes for T&D substations and related facilities. You will coordinate with design teams to deliver integrated protection, control, and monitoring solutions, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and cost targets.

You will lead local or remote teams and work with SCADA engineers, process control staff, and vendors to deliver complete system integration, including IEC 61850, and ensure robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 7 years of engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of protection and controls engineering experience for substations or power generation.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time, including international, for meetings and on-site commissioning tests.

Responsibilities

• Design protection schemes for T&D substations, Data Centers, Industrial, BESS applications.
• Lead a local or remote design team for panel and interconnect wiring and layouts.
• Coordinate with SCADA, Cyber Security, and Telecom needs for integrated protection and control systems.
• Interface with internal/external team members to meet project specs, costs, and schedule.
