Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to drive performance engineering initiatives for enterprise and cloud-native apps. You will design, execute, and automate tests, and partner with DevOps, SRE, and architecture teams to optimize scalability and resiliency.

The role requires deep hands-on experience with performance testing tools, AWS cloud services, and observability platforms, with remote US eligibility. Strong collaboration and off-hours testing readiness are valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on experience in performance testing for enterprise apps.
• Experience with NeoLoad or similar tools.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Hands-on AWS cloud services experience (EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda).
• Programming/scripting in Python, Java, SQL, shell scripting.
• Strong observability tool experience (Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Experience with containers/orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
• Willingness to work off-hours for production testing when required.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, and capacity testing for enterprise apps and APIs.
• Build and maintain automated performance testing frameworks (NeoLoad, custom solutions).
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines with performance gates.
• Analyze application, DB, infra, network, and cloud performance; recommend optimizations.
• Use AWS services and observability tools to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Plan Chaos Engineering and resiliency testing for fault tolerance and recovery.
• Develop automation utilities to improve testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define performance KPIs and capacity needs.
