Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to drive performance engineering for enterprise and cloud-native apps. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in testing, automation, cloud platforms, observability, and resiliency.

You will collaborate with development, architecture, platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams to set standards, automate gates, identify bottlenecks, and improve scalability and readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of hands-on performance testing for enterprise apps.
• Hands-on with NeoLoad or similar enterprise tools for design, modeling, and reporting.
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or similar).
• Hands-on with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Programming/scripting in Python, Java, SQL, and shell; testing REST APIs.
• Experience diagnosing performance across app, DB, infra, network and cloud with observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability tests.
• Build and maintain automated performance-testing frameworks.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines with thresholds and gates.
• Analyze bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, network, cloud.
• Provide actionable optimization recommendations to improve performance.
• Plan Chaos Engineering and resiliency testing for fault tolerance and recovery.
