Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer in the United States (remote) to lead performance testing for enterprise and cloud-native applications. You will design and execute performance strategies, build automation for testing, and drive resiliency initiatives.

Role requires deep expertise in NeoLoad, AWS, observability tools, and scripting. collaboration with DevOps, SRE, and engineering teams is essential to improve scalability and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of hands-on performance testing experience.
• Hands-on NeoLoad or similar enterprise performance testing tool experience.
• Experience integrating automated performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD).
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native architectures.
• Programming and scripting in Python, Java, SQL, and shell scripting.
• Experience diagnosing performance issues across app, database, infra, network, cloud using observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic Stack).
• Experience with containerized environments and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, ECS, EKS).
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and capacity-testing strategies for enterprise apps and APIs.
• Build and maintain automated performance-testing frameworks (NeoLoad and custom solutions).
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD with performance thresholds and gates.
• Analyze performance across app, database, infra, network, and cloud layers to identify bottlenecks.
• Use AWS services and observability tools to troubleshoot performance issues.
• Plan chaos engineering and resiliency testing to evaluate fault tolerance.
• Develop automation utilities to improve testing efficiency.
• Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, standards, and capacity requirements.
