Job summary

Cognizant in the United States is seeking a Lead Performance Test Engineer to drive performance engineering for enterprise and cloud-native applications, combining hands-on testing with automation and observability.

You will design tests, build frameworks with NeoLoad, integrate with GitLab CI/CD, and analyze bottlenecks across apps, databases, and cloud services using CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on performance testing for enterprise applications.
• Experience designing and executing performance, load, and chaos tests.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with AWS services and cloud-native architectures.
• Programming/scripting in Python, Java, SQL, and shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, scalability, and capacity tests for enterprise apps and APIs.
• Build and maintain automated performance testing frameworks (NeoLoad and custom solutions).
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines with thresholds and quality gates.
• Analyze app, DB, infrastructure, network, and cloud performance to identify bottlenecks.
• Use observability tools (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus) to troubleshoot issues.
• Plan and run Chaos Engineering and resiliency tests to validate fault tolerance.
• Develop automation utilities to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define performance KPIs and capacity needs.
