Job summary

Intuit seeks a Lead Tax Processor (Level X5) for Payroll Tax Operations to drive critical initiatives and resolve the most complex escalations. You will govern SOPs, coach the team, and build workforce capacity while ensuring compliance integrity across states.

The role emphasizes leadership in a high-stakes environment with AI tools to enhance daily tasks and continuous improvement. Flexible hours and overtime eligibility accompany a virtual, remote arrangement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution.
• Lead/SME experience with coaching juniors through nuanced resolution scenarios.
• Expert knowledge of tax payments and filing regulations across US jurisdictions, incl. PA and OH.
• Advanced writing skills for SOPs and technical documents for a tax-processor audience.
• Strong ownership of SLAs, red flags, and proactive workflow improvement.

Responsibilities

• Serve as real-time go-to technical expert for TP1, TP2, TP3 staff.
• Author, review, and approve SOPs and KB articles.
• Coach team members quarterly using SBIC feedback model.
• Lead or support team huddles, QA sessions, and Daily Stand-Ups when needed.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing adjustments.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices (IRS, state) across jurisdictions.
• Approve complex amended Federal and State returns with audit trails.
• Identify trends and risks; communicate with data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings and provide risk-informed options.
