Job summary

Bread Financial is seeking a Lead - Operational Risk Business Specialist to proactively identify operational risks and ensure controls are in place across the first line of defense. You will partner with senior leaders to embed risk management into strategic plans and daily processes.

You will provide governance of key risk programs, challenge risk assessments, and deliver insights from KRIs, RAMs, and loss data to strengthen the risk culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or GED.
• 8–10 years experience in Risk management, audit, governance, compliance oversight, control oversight, or related disciplines.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred, with 10+ years experience in risk management or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance and oversight of key operational risk programs including RCSA, Issues Management, Risk Assessments, and Operational Loss to verify conformance to standards.
• Consult with leadership for end-to-end execution of the RCSA program, including control breaks and resolutions to reduce financial loss, regulatory exposure, and reputational risk.
• Analyze program-related data (KRI, RAM, Operational Losses, Control Testing Results) to provide strategic recommendations and aggregate/report for management updates.
• Support business process changes and advise on upstream/downstream operational impacts and dependencies.
