Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization activities for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. This fully remote role requires travel 20–30% and close collaboration with Owners, Utilities, OEMs, and field teams.

You will develop energization procedures, review protection schemes, mentor engineers, and ensure safety and compliance across projects. Strong leadership and cross-team coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities.
• 5+ years leading commissioning and energization on complex utility-scale projects.
• PE license or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Attend Owner, Utility, and stakeholder meetings as requested.
• Develop Testing & Commissioning plans aligned with project specs.
• Lead initial substation energization activities and field coordination.
• Review protection philosophies, relay settings, and commissioning strategies.
• Provide post-energization support and mentor commissioning engineers.
