Job summary
SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. This fully remote role involves 20–30% travel and acts as the senior technical authority, interfacing with project management, owners, utilities, and OEMs.
Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years in HV commissioning, and PE or NETA credentials.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; PE license preferred.
- Minimum 10 years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV substations, BESS, PV facilities.
- Experience leading commissioning teams and complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of protection, control, relay testing, and interconnection requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support testing, commissioning, and energization activities for HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities.
- Develop energization procedures and commissioning plans aligned with specs and standards.
- Review protection philosophies, relay settings, and commissioning strategies for safety and readiness.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and final sign-off on deliverables.
