Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead testing, commissioning, and energization for utility-scale HV substations, BESS, and PV facilities. This remote role involves up to 30% travel and close collaboration with Owners, Utilities, OEMs, and field teams.

You will supervise Commissioning Engineers, develop energization strategies, review complex technical issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards and project specs. PE or NETA certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10+ years in testing, commissioning, energization of HV/substations, BESS, PV.
• 5+ years leading commissioning/energization on complex projects.
• 2+ years of engineering leadership or supervision.
• Experience with protection, relay testing, and power quality.
• PE license or ability to obtain; high voltage switching experience; NETA certification.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings with Owners, Utilities, and stakeholders.
• Develop Testing & Commissioning plans aligned with interconnection requirements.
• Lead energization activities for HV substations, BESS, and PV systems.
• Review protection philosophies and relay settings for readiness.
• Authorize commissioning reports and turnover to client.
• Provide post-energization technical support and field guidance.
