Job summary

Pearson is seeking Learning Subject Matter Experts to edit and QA assessment content for quality and accessibility. This remote role supports Editorial, Assessment, and Content teams and involves applying style guides, conducting thorough copyediting, and assuring alignment with standards.

You will contribute to the publishing workflow using Pearson‑preferred tools, mentor others, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent certification/on‑the‑job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Strong end‑to‑end copyediting proficiency including spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, and usage.
• Familiarity with major style guides such as Chicago Manual of Style and Gregg Reference Manual.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, syntax, and style per department and client standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components and identifies errors.
• Applies client style guidelines and flags deviations when needed for best outcomes.
• Understands copyeditor scope and communicates concerns when necessary; acts within scope.
