Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our growing civil construction practice. The role focuses on producing detailed estimates from plans, specs, and scopes of work, leveraging self-perform capacity and a broad network of subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in construction management or civil engineering, federal-project experience, and hands-on CPM/estimating software expertise including Bid2Win and HCSS Heavy Bid.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Field experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure works including earthwork, utilities, dam/levee and paving.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, drawings, specs and schedules; proficient with CPM scheduling and estimating software such as Bid2Win (B2W) and HCSS Heavy Bid.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Furnish accurate quantity takeoff information to provide a detailed list of materials and costs.
• Identify, source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify, quantify, and evaluate potential risks, and develop a mitigation plan.
• Collaborate with a team of in-house professionals from field and office to prepare estimates.
• Meet interim estimate milestones for constructability and productivity reviews to meet deadlines.
• Support constructability reviews through communication with project team, designers, and subcontractor market.
• Interact with Operations after award including alternates, options, and site conditions.
