Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for its Civil Construction line. The role focuses on producing detailed self-perform cost estimates for heavy civil projects, based on plans, specs, and scopes of work.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil contracting and can lead a collaborative team across field and office. The position is remote with EST/CST alignment and periodic travel; salary ranges from $120,000 to $140,000 annually, plus a robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering required.
• Minimum of 10 years estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specs, and schedules.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and estimating software such as Bid2Win (B2W) and HCSS Heavy Bid.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates based on project size, scope, and mix.
• Provide quantity takeoffs and detailed material costs.
• Source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best-value partnerships.
• Identify and quantify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to prepare estimates and meet submission deadlines.
• Obtain and vet subcontractor and supplier pricing for comprehensive scope coverage.
• Support constructability reviews and alternate approaches as needed.
• Engage with operations post-award to discuss alternatives and site conditions.
