Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for our heavy civil division. This remote role requires EST or CST work hours with occasional travel.

The candidate will prepare detailed estimates from plans and specs, manage quantity takeoffs, and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure best-value bids. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in construction management or civil engineering and 10+ years of heavy civil estimating, including federal project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates.
• Furnish accurate quantity takeoff information for materials and costs.
• Identify, source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best value.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare and submit inquiries to clients regarding drawings and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with in-house field and office teams to prepare estimates.
• Meet interim estimate milestones for reviews and re-calibration.
• Obtain and vet subcontractor and supplier pricing.
