American Rivers seeks a Junior Staff Accountant to support the Finance and Accounting team in ensuring GAAP compliance and timely transaction recording. This remote role handles AP, AR, GL, and grant-related reconciliations with a focus on accuracy and internal controls.

You will perform journal entries, month-end close assistance, and aid audits while collaborating with a national remote team and contributing to our mission of clean and healthy rivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; internship or coursework a plus.
• Remote work ability with strong organization and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe software; strong communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Process accounts payable, vendor invoices with proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor files and ensure IRS compliance.
• Record and reconcile accounts receivable, including grants and donations.
• Prepare journal entries and assist with month- and year-end closing.
• Support audits and grant-related reconciliations and reporting.
