American Rivers is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support the finance team in GAAP-compliant accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; internship or coursework a plus.
• Remote work capability and self-motivation in a distributed team.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: process invoices, approvals, coding, and payments.
• Vendor File Maintenance: collect documents, ensure data accuracy, and maintain compliance.
• Accounts Receivable: record payments, invoices, and grant reimbursements.
• General Ledger & Reconciliations: journal entries, month/year-end closes, bank reconciliations.
• Compliance: 1099 reporting, IRS/OMB regulations, federal grant rules.
• Audit & Reporting Support: assist audits and provide schedules and reconciliations.
• Regulatory & Standards Compliance: GAAP adherence and relevant IRS, DOL, and agency requirements.
