Job summary

Precise Software Solutions Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer/QA to support a federal government client’s online case management system. The role blends development, QA, support, and content management in an Agile Scrum environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, familiarity with SDLC, Jira/Confluence, and hands-on testing experience, with roughly two years in software development or IT. Local candidates preferred in the DC area, but the position is remote.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Proficient in Agile Scrum methodology with hands-on Scrum experience.
• Good understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence for tracking work and reporting.
• Comfortable managing a help desk / ticketing queue and communicating with clients.
• Experience with software testing practices, including end-to-end and regression testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field.
• Approximately 2 years of software development or IT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support full stack development efforts—front-end and back-end for the case management system.
• Provide daily technical support and desk ticketing (e.g., ServiceNow) for the system.
• Conduct end-to-end and regression testing across the web application.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and manage the product backlog in Jira.
• Create and maintain documentation and status reports using Jira and Confluence.
• Maintain professional relationships with federal client stakeholders through clear communication.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve delivery speed.
