Job summary

Synergy is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for a growing government client. You will perform functional and integration testing for a server-based application UI, interpret requirements, and develop test plans and test cases to ensure quality throughout the software development life cycle.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of QA experience, strong SDLC/Agile knowledge, and both black box and white box testing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in black box manual testing of web UIs.
• Functional, system, regression, and integration testing experience.
• Develop test cases from user stories.
• Ability to execute and read complex SQL queries.
• Analyze product for integration test scenarios.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with test management tools.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Experience in white box testing of RESTful/SOAP APIs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines.
• Document QA procedures for the team.
• Validate deployment of software releases.
• Experience in test planning, data planning, scheduling.
• Defect management in a corporate tracking system.
• Ability to obtain Security+ if necessary.
• Work with cross-functional teams including development and production support.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert QA analysis and leadership to junior QA analysts.
• Lead and mentor junior QA analysts.
• Utilize testing tools and methodologies effectively.
• Meet with designers to determine QA parameters and success criteria.
• Define test plan development guidelines, testing strategies and procedures.
• Plan and accomplish goals with professional judgment.
• Report to a program or project manager.
• Ensure successful deployment of products with minimal defects.
• Respond to requests from design and management.
