Job summary

The University IT User Services team is hiring a Remote User Services IT Specialist to deliver tier 1 technology support for a diverse user base including staff, students and alumni. You will manage work orders, provide timely updates, and collaborate with HR and external partners to keep systems running smoothly.

You will stay informed about current and future technologies, ensure professional conduct, and represent IT and the University positively to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier 1 technology support to prospects, students, alumni and employees with responsive, courteous service.
• Record accurate and timely information into the work order system and assist inquiries.
• Provide information, updates and feedback to users or technical team members.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to facilitate work orders for new hires and terminations.
• Prioritize requests, monitor progress, assess performance and communicate with users.
• Collaborate with external technology support teams and update knowledge base.
• Understand university systems and interrelationships; provide problem-determination support.
• Represent IT and the University to faculty, staff, students and external vendors.
• Keep current with upcoming technologies through training and self-motivation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
