Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking an IT Procurement Lead (Senior Category Manager) to craft category strategies for enterprise technology products and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, technology, finance, or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of progressive IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or similar field.
• Experience sourcing healthcare technology solutions in a highly regulated industry.
• Experience negotiating complex software, SaaS, cloud, data, and tech-enabled services agreements.
• Strong category management, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and SRM skills.
• Ability to translate business, regulatory, privacy, security, data considerations into sourcing decisions.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders and manage cross-functional priorities.
• Experience managing supplier performance and contract lifecycle from inception to renewal.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies and sourcing pipelines aligned to business priorities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives: requirements, market assessment, events, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, implementation.
• Negotiate software, SaaS, cloud, data, and tech-enabled services terms including pricing, licensing, SLAs, data rights, renewal protections.
• Advise senior business and technology leaders, translating needs into actionable sourcing strategies.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, IT Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, EA, and Procurement Ops to drive timely decisions.
• Manage strategic suppliers across the lifecycle, monitoring performance, renewals, and value realization.
• Deliver cost optimization, demand management, supplier consolidation, and risk mitigation.
• Develop business cases, savings forecasts, and executive-ready recommendations while tracking market trends.
• Promote adoption of preferred suppliers and standardized procurement practices.
