Job summary

Advocate Health’s IT Internship provides hands-on exposure to HRIS and IT operations, helping students learn IT configuration, application support, and system maintenance. Interns liaise with clinical operations, IT staff, users, and vendors to ensure smooth system operations.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as Incoming Junior, or Senior at an accredited college or university.
• GPA 2.5 or higher.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and multitask effectively.
• Proficiency with Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• IT intern may research unusual bugs or issues the company encounters.
• Intern must support the IT team in maintenance of hardware, software and other systems.
• Assist more experienced analysts in improvements and recovery procedures.
• Assist in evaluating hosting options and report pricing and system options to supervisors.
• Run software updates and backups when requested.
• Help develop new desktops, servers or applications and assist with service desk KPIs.
