Job summary

Advocate Health is offering an IT Internship within HRIS and IT to give college students practical experience during the 2027 summer program. You will learn IT configuration, support and maintenance of applications to meet operational needs while liaising with clinical operations, IT staff, users and vendors.

Interns assist with hardware/software upkeep, troubleshoot printers, desktops and servers, run software updates and backups, and help document issues.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as Incoming Junior, or Senior at an accredited college or university.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with good teamwork and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Research and document unusual bugs or issues.
• Support IT team in hardware, software, and system maintenance.
• Assist IT configurations and recovery procedures for applications.
• Troubleshoot equipment such as printers, computers and servers.
• Run software updates and backups as requested.
• Assist with call tracking and KPI-related documentation.
