Job summary

Advocate Health is offering an IT Internship focusing on HRIS and IT operations, providing hands-on experience with configuration, support, and maintenance of applications to meet organizational needs.

Interns will work remotely, supporting the IT team, ensuring data integrity, and learning procedures for system updates and troubleshooting. Program runs May 31, 2027–August 6, 2027, up to 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment with junior or senior status at an accredited college or university.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Effective multitasking and prioritization.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Research unusual bugs or issues the company encounters.
• Support IT team in maintenance of hardware, software and systems.
• Assist more experienced analysts in facilitating conversions, updates, and recovery procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment like printers, computers and servers.
• Run software updates and backups as requested.
• Research hosting options and report pricing and options to supervisors.
• Contribute to development of new desktops, servers or applications.
• Assist with call tracking system and KPI reporting.
• Provide initial support troubleshooting and resolve basic LAN/WAN issues.
