Job summary

Advocate Health is offering an IT Internship for enrolled college students (incoming junior or senior) to gain hands-on experience in HRIS and IT. The internship runs May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027, with up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, during business hours.

Remote work is available for residents of certain states, including Nebraska. This role focuses on IT configuration, support and maintenance of applications to meet organizational needs.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment with junior or senior status at an accredited college or university.
• GPA of at least 2.5.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability in successfully completing tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel.
• Integrity, maturity and dependability.

Responsibilities

• Research unusual bugs or issues the company encounters.
• Support IT team in maintenance of hardware, software and systems.
• Assist in conversions, updates and recovery procedures for applications and hardware.
• Troubleshoot equipment like printers, computers and servers.
• Run software updates and backups when requested.
• Research hosting options and report pricing and options to supervisors.
• Participate in development of desktops, servers or applications.
• Record interactions with customers while meeting KPI targets.
• Provide initial support troubleshooting and resolve basic problems related to LAN/WAN-based software and devices.
• Review data integrity and assist in data analysis to support requirements.
