Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to interpret inpatient, outpatient and profee records, assign diagnoses and CPT codes with correct sequencing, and ensure compliant coding aligned with AHIMA/AMA guidelines.

Remote home-office role, full-time with strong emphasis on accuracy, productivity, and ongoing training within a multi-specialty setting and diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Active coding credential and IR coding experience required.
• Preference for multi-specialty surgical coding background.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM and CPT coding and modifiers.
• Maintain a 95% quality score and adhere to HIPAA/compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Abstract, code and sequence diagnoses and procedures from varied medical records.
• Apply coding principles and DRG/APC knowledge for accurate reimbursement.
• Enter codes into multiple systems and maintain productivity metrics.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations and accreditation standards.
• Identify and report correct initial diagnoses, procedures and modifiers.
• Mentor, train and audit staff as needed; support continuous improvement.
• Maintain high quality scores and accurate documentation for audits.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and business partners.
