Job summary

Omega Healthcare is hiring a remote Medical Coder to abstract, code, and sequence clinical information from various records. You will apply coding guidelines to assign accurate diagnoses and procedures, and enter data into client systems with a focus on compliance and quality.

Requirements include AHIMA/AAPC Coding Certificate and 3+ years of production coding in acute care. Experience with 3M, Cerner, and Meditech is a plus; remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• AHIMA/AAPC Coding Certificate required.
• 2-4 years coding experience in acute care and profee.
• Certifications CPC/COC/CIC/RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and code clinical data from patient records.
• Assign diagnoses and procedures with correct sequencing.
• Use coding principals and DRG/APC reimbursement knowledge.
• Enter codes into multiple systems and encoders.
• Adhere to AHIMA/AMA/AHA/CMS guidelines and HIPAA.
• Monitor productivity and maintain 95% quality.
