Job summary

Omega Healthcare Management Services is seeking a skilled Health Information Coder to abstract and code clinical data from inpatient, outpatient, and other records. You will ensure accurate sequencing of diagnoses and procedures, applying DRG/APC guidance and AHIMA/AMA/CMS guidelines to optimize reimbursement and compliance.

The role requires CPC or equivalent credentials, 2+ years of coding experience across acute care and profee, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an AAPC or AHIMA-approved Coding Certificate Program.
• Minimum of two to four years of current production coding experience in both acute care and profee.
• Must have CPC, COC, CIC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, and/or CCS-P certificates/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Abstract and assign principal and secondary diagnoses and principal/secondary procedure codes with attention to sequencing.
• Utilizes coding principals and DRG/APC reimbursement expertise to assign appropriate codes.
• Follow official coding guidelines to review and analyze health records.
• Maintain 95% quality rating.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
