MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. The role requires learning hospital systems, researching claims, and coordinating with third-party payors to achieve timely resolutions, with a focus on education for new hires.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.
• Ability to access and protect PHI per guidelines.
• Strong arithmetic and numerical accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital patient accounts for insurance payment and rebill when needed.
• Work 40–50 accounts per day for assigned payor(s).
• Address denials and zero pay reports within 24 hours of receipt.
• Gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information to resolve claims.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve denial/variance trends and payor issues.
• Prepare simpler claims for reconsiderations/appeals.
• Assist leadership in managing A/R and resolve balances at 90 days post-discharge.
• Educate and train new hires and support less experienced representatives.
• Research accounts and route through appropriate workflows.
• Review and adjust accounts per payor guidelines.
• Support projects and workflows with team leadership.
