Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts.

The Account Follow-up Representative II is expected to learn multiple hospital systems, conduct research analysis, and work with third party payors to obtain information for resolving unpaid claims. This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in the US.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Knowledge of insurance follow-up processes with understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.
• Access protected health information (PHI) in accordance with guidelines.
• Skilled in making accurate arithmetic computations.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and initiative.
• Detail oriented with strong multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital patient accounts for insurance payment.
• Work 40–50 accounts per day for assigned payors.
• Work denials and zero-dollar pay reports within 24 hours of receipt.
• Gather demographics, medical records, authorizations, and insurance information for payments.
• Identify and resolve denial/variance trends with other teams.
• Assist leadership with A/R management and 90-day balances.
• Educate and train new hires as needed.
• Complete projects assigned by team lead or manager.
• Maintain QMS procedures and HIPAA compliance.
• Attend role-based education courses.
• Other duties as assigned.
