Job summary

Harris Computer seeks an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. This remote role welcomes candidates across the United States and involves learning multiple hospital systems, researching claims, and working with third-party payors to obtain information for resolution.

Qualifications

• High-speed internet (≥300 Mbps) and unlimited data.
• Smartphone for MFA authentication.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes impacting insurance reimbursements.
• Understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Proficiency with telephone systems for outbound/inbound calls.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude; remains professional under pressure.
• 3+ years' experience in related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital patient accounts for insurance payment; verify payment status and rebill as needed.
• Handle 40–50 accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information to pay claims and update systems.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations/appeals.
• Deliver education and training for new hires and assist less experienced reps.
• Research accounts with outstanding balances and route through appropriate workflows.
• Review and adjust accounts per payor and client guidelines.
• Participate in projects to fulfill contractual obligations and collaborate with other teams.
• Maintain MEDHOST QA and comply with regulatory requirements as needed.
• Attend role-based education courses within the year.
• Assist leadership with special projects/stretch assignments.
• Maintain knowledge of payors and collection regulations.
• Engage in self-study and training to stay current.
