Job summary

MEDHOST is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in the United States and involves learning multiple hospital systems and handling mid-to-complex claims with payer communications.

You will follow up 40–50 accounts daily, gather demographic and insurance information, and ensure timely resolution in line with payor and client requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in related field.
• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Experience with insurance follow-up and healthcare reimbursement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on hospital accounts with insurance payments and verify claim status.
• Handle 40–50 accounts per day for assigned payors.
• Gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information for claims resolution.
• Identify and prepare less complex claims for reconsiderations and appeals.
• Assist training of new hires and support junior staff.
• Route accounts through appropriate workflows and update systems with patient information.
• Maintain knowledge of payors and regulatory requirements and adhere to guidelines.
• Collaborate with other teams to resolve project issues and improve workflows.
