Job summary

MEDHOST is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative II to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances on hospital patient accounts. The role is remote in the United States and requires learning multiple hospital systems, conducting research analyses, and coordinating with third-party payors to resolve unpaid claims.

You will handle 40–50 accounts daily, prioritize tasks, and assist in training new hires while maintaining HIPAA compliance and quality management standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years’ experience in related medical field.
• Follow directions and work independently per department standards.
• Must handle high-pressure situations professionally.

Responsibilities

• Follow-up on outstanding insurance payments and verify claim status.
• Process 40–50 accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Work denials and zero balance reports within 24 hours of receipt.
• Gather required demographic, clinical, and insurance information for claims processing.
• Assist leadership in managing accounts receivable and resolutions at 90 days post-discharge.
• Collaborate with third-party payors and internal teams to resolve issues.
• Deliver training to new hires and assist junior representatives.
